Yay for poor reasoning

I don't know if this will strike you as odd. It struck me as odd. As I was cruising through people's blogs I came across the following comment:

You shouldn't lie (cause u always get caught)

Now, unless you want to deny that morality exists, which isn't the case here: Notice the normative "should" - Yes, it's a moral should. No, it's not a normal should. No really it's not. Then always getting caught is not really a reason for the action's badness.

Of course it's a reason not to do the action, but it says nothing about its moral worth. Therefore, this particular young female should reevaluate her moral position.

p.s. I love being able to tell people what to do from my lofty ivory tower.
